Exclude Signers and Mark Documents as Complete

Exclude Signer and Mark as Complete are administrative actions that allow you to continue or close a signing workflow after a document has been sent. These features help prevent delays when a signer is no longer required to participate or when the remaining signatures are no longer needed.


Requirements

  • This feature is available on request at no additional cost.

  • Access may be restricted by your company administrator.

  • To request access, use the in-app chat located in the bottom-right corner of your screen or email the solutions team at [email protected]


Instructions

1. Exclude Signer

Use this option when a specific signer no longer needs to sign, but the document should continue to the next signer in the workflow.

  1. Open the document you would like to manage.

  2. Locate the current signer and click the Actions menu next to their name.

  3. Select Exclude Signer.

  4. Review the disclaimer and click Yes to confirm.

  5. The signer's status will update to Excluded.

  6. The signing request will automatically move to the next signer in the workflow.

2. Mark as Complete

Use this option when all remaining pending signers no longer need to sign and you wish to force-close the document.

  1. Open the document you would like to manage.

  2. Click Document Admin in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Select Mark as Complete.

  4. Review the disclaimer and click Yes to confirm that all remaining pending signers will be excluded.

  5. The document status will update to Complete.

  6. Copies of the completed document will automatically be distributed to all parties

Expected Outcome

  • Excluded signers are removed from the signing workflow and the document progresses to the next signer automatically.

  • Marking a document as complete immediately closes the workflow by excluding all remaining pending signers.

  • All parties associated with the document, including the excluded signers, will receive a copy of the completed document once the workflow is completed.


FAQs

Will excluded signers still receive a copy of the completed document?

Yes. All parties associated with the document will receive a copy of the completed document, including signers who were excluded from the signing process. This cannot be disabled.

Can I add an excluded signer back into the workflow?

No. Once a signer has been excluded, they cannot currently be reintroduced into the workflow.

Can I use In-Person Signing after excluding a signer?

No. In-Person Signing cannot currently be facilitated after a signer has been excluded from the workflow.
