Copy & Paste fields

Copying and pasting fields allows you to quickly replicate existing fields without manually creating them. This streamlines document setup, ensures consistent field sizes, and saves time when building complex documents.

You can now copy fields and paste them on command. This is a handy feature to save you from manually creating fields again and streamlines your setup process.

Requirements

  • Supported document formats: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Permissions to edit fields within the document

  • Keyboard / Mouse

Instructions

  1. Select the Field(s)

    • Click on the field you want to copy.

    • To select multiple fields, click and drag to highlight all the desired fields.

  2. Copy the Field(s)

    • Use the menu on the right and select Copy, or use the shortcut:

      • Windows: Ctrl + C

      • Mac: Cmd + C

  3. Paste the Field(s)

    • Navigate to the desired location in the document.

    • Use the shortcut:

      • Windows: Ctrl + V

      • Mac: Cmd + V

  4. Adjust as Needed

    • Drag the field to reposition it.

    • Edit properties (field type, assignment, required status, help text) to fit the document requirements.

Expected Outcome

Fields are duplicated exactly as configured and can be positioned or edited as needed. This ensures consistent layout and reduces manual effort when setting up multiple similar fields.

Can I copy and paste multiple fields at once?

Yes. To select multiple fields, left-click and drag to highlight all the fields you need, then copy and paste them as a group.

Will the pasted field keep the same size and properties as the original?

Yes. Pasted fields retain the same size and configuration as the original. You can adjust the positioning or properties after pasting if needed.

Will the pasted field keep the same prefilled data?

Yes. Pasted fields retain the same data but this can be cleared if required. Select the required fields and click “Empty selected fields” available on the far right menu
