Sending Documents via WhatsApp or SMS

Written by Nirmal Fakir

Documents can be delivered to signers through WhatsApp or SMS using QuicklySign. This can be done either by generating a separate signing link after email delivery or by sending the request directly via WhatsApp/SMS (no email address required).

Requirements

  • Supported document formats: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Permissions to create and send documents in QuicklySign

  • Stable internet connection and a modern web browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox)

  • (Optional) Direct WhatsApp/SMS delivery - Available at an additional charge (contact [email protected])

Instructions

Option 1: Generate a separate signing link after email delivery

  1. Send the document using the standard email method (include email and mobile number). This feature is not billed - included on regular QuicklySign

  2. After sending, you will be redirected to the home screen (Document List).

  3. Click on the document you wish to share (View)

  4. Click Actions > Generate Signing Link.

  5. Copy the link and share it via WhatsApp, direct email, or any messaging platform.

Note: Signers will still be required to enter a One-Time Pin (OTP) for security.

Option 2: Deliver directly via WhatsApp or SMS*

  1. During document setup, specify which signers should receive the document and select WhatsApp or SMS as the delivery method.

  2. The signing request is sent directly from QuicklySign’s WhatsApp account or SMS system.

Important:

  • This method is not compliant for financial or legal documents as it does not meet 2-factor authentication requirements.

  • Additional charges apply for direct WhatsApp/SMS delivery. Please contact [email protected] or use the in-app chat.

  • Access can be arranged for Enterprise plans. Please contact your system administrator.

  • Signing request is delivered directly from QuicklySign's WhatsApp number and cannot be routed from your business WhatsApp number - Exclusive to Enterprise plans.

Expected Outcome

Signers receive the document via the selected delivery method and can access it using the unique link. Security is maintained through OTP verification, ensuring only authorized signers can complete the document.

Do signers still need an OTP if I share a signing link manually?
Yes. OTP verification is always required to ensure security.
